Other Issues-Asset Server

Q: My inventory items aren't wearable/rezzable! Fireballs, boat attachments, or other items aren't rezzing!

The Asset Server in Second Life controls a lot of things. Occasionally it will go down or have problems, making many actions inaccessible. Information about major problems with the asset server will be announced at http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ . Minor outages or slow-downs are generally not announced on the grid status page, but can still heavily affect performance.

Symptoms of this issue include:

• You attempt to wear something and it doesn't appear.
• You attempt to rez something and it doesn't appear, and no warning is generated.
• A boat you have rezzed attempts to rez the detail attachment and it doesn't appear, and no warning is generated.
• A dragon you are wearing attempts to rez a fireball or water splash or etc and it doesn't appear, and no warning is generated.

The only solution for an asset server issue is to wait until it is resolved. Sometimes it takes hours, for serious ones, and sometimes it's just a couple minutes before things clear up.
